It’s Sunday evening, and as I write this, my house is quiet. The Christmas decorations are up, and Flashdance is playing softly in the background (a classic for a reason, right?).
Friday night feels like both a memory and a lingering energy. It was truly magical—our Full Moon event at Honest Yoga brought together twenty souls for 90 minutes of breathwork and healing, and the experience was unforgettable.
Picture this: the yoga room lit by the soft glow of fifteen candles, the lights dimmed, and the Super Moon casting its light through the back window. The space felt sacred, like it was holding us all in its embrace.
At moments during the session, the group breathed as one. Inhale, exhale—twenty people in perfect unison. It was so moving that I found myself tearing up, struck by the beauty of such connection and presence. Together, we were in the flow, doing this work not just as individuals but as a community.
Even after the session ended, the magic lingered. Some stayed on their mats, chatting with friends or getting to know the strangers who had been beside them. The room radiated with openness, connection, and a shared sense of lightness.
This is why I love this work so much. When we take care of ourselves—our energy, our emotions, our breath—we don’t just fill our own cups. We create ripples. The light we cultivate within touches the people around us: our families, friends, colleagues, and communities. That’s what happened on Friday night. Every single person in that room brightened their light, and that energy will continue to spread outward.
As I sat with this experience, I had one thought: Why don’t I offer 90-minute breathwork and meditation sessions like this more often? It’s something I’ve done regularly on retreats, but seeing how natural and impactful it was for our community, I realized it’s time to bring these sessions back. Don’t be surprised if you see a monthly breathwork + meditation class popping up on the schedule soon!
In the meantime, I’m thrilled to share something even bigger: our very first Mini-Retreat at Honest Yoga! Mark your calendars for February 21-22, because Trusting the Journey Ahead will be a two-day immersion into sound healing, breathwork, movement, reiki, and more. Think of it as a retreat experience without the travel—a chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself in a way that feels deeply restorative.
I’m teaming up with my dear friend and retreat partner Nicole Ferguson to bring this vision to life. We’d love for you to join us and experience the magic of stepping away from the everyday and into a space of intentional healing and growth.
xoxo, Nicole
